The Challenge

Deforestation data is complex, dynamic, and often locked behind technical tools that are difficult for non-expert users to understand. For RAMO Earth, whose mission is to enable data-driven nature-based solutions, there was a clear need for a platform that could surface forest loss, risk indicators, and project opportunities in a way that was intuitive, actionable, and scalable across different user profiles.

The Goal

The primary objectives of the project were to:

  • Design the platform experience from scratch with a strong product and user-centric approach.
  • Make deforestation and forest-risk data visually clear, explorable, and easy to interpret through an interactive Atlas map.
  • Create a scalable and consistent design system, fully aligned with RAMO Earth’s brand and future platform needs.
  • Integrate an AI-powered agent to guide users, contextualise data, and support decision-making while exploring projects and forest areas.

The Solution

To achieve these objectives, I worked as Product Designer across the entire platform, leading the design end-to-end. The solution included:

  • A fully designed interactive platform experience, combining project views with an Atlas map to explore forests, deforestation risk, and potential project areas.
  • The integration of a conversational AI agent, allowing users to interact with data, ask contextual questions, and gain insights directly within the platform.
  • The design of all UI components and interaction patterns, supported by a comprehensive design system and detailed Figma guidelines to ensure consistency, scalability, and ease of future development.
  • A clear UX structure that enables seamless navigation between projects, maps, and insights, transforming complex environmental data into an accessible and human-centered experience.
